  • Do you believe you can make a difference in a young person’s life?

If so, then we would love for you to join our friendly, professional and supportive team here at Prosperity Childrens Service’s as part of our bank of support workers.

About Us

At Prosperity Children’s Services we provide care for vulnerable children and young people across Lancashire in children’s homes, contact centres and hospitals working alongside local authorities. We also provide a transport/escort service which does involve some driving.

To be successful in this role you will have previous experience of working with a range of young people with emotional/behavioural problems, mental health conditions and/or challenging behaviours.  You must be able to work weekdays, evenings, weekends and nights – and in return we offer you the flexibility of being able to choose shifts when they are available.

Good communication skills are a must. You may be required to spend lengthy amounts of time with service users therefore the ability to communicate well is essential as well as the ability to problem-solve.

You will need a clear enhanced DBS and a full driving license. You must undertake our Crisis prevention institute training. This training provides you with fundamental knowledge around understanding trauma, de-escalation techniques, communication skills and safety interventions, inclusive of restrictive holds. Due to the trauma and past experiences of the children we work with, it can sometimes be difficult for them to regulate their emotions and behaviour, which can require the use of restrictive holds. As part of the role, you will be expected to carry out these safety interventions safely which can be physically demanding for extended periods of time.
